Dunfermline & District Darts League

Welcome to the official website of the Dunfermline & District Darts League.

It is an exciting time for darts in Dunfermline District with a growth in membership from 10 teams in 2008/09 to 14 teams in 2009/2010. In addition, the 2009/10 season saw the introduction of a second mens Superleague team as well as the formation of a womens Superleague team.

The League catchment area was extended in 2009/10 to include 2 teams from our neighbouring (some say rival) town of Cowdenbeath.

The introduction of 5 new teams, unfortunately one team was lost from the previous season, ensured that the 2009/10 league challenge was the closest it had been for many years and saw the title race go down to last day of the season when 4 teams still had a chance to lift the title. A last day win for Barley Sheaf B ensured that this honour went to them There was also an unprecedented number of games of 18 darts and under, 100+ checkouts and 180's scored.

Further evidence of the strengthening of the league became evident when the eventual leage winners along with the 2008/09 league winners and runners found themselves in the consolation cup.

As usual the highlight of the 2009/10 season was the Finals Day at Jokers on Sunday 20th June. This year there was an incredible turnout of over 120 players and supporters with 9 of the 14 teams represented in matches played on the day. With interest already expressed from 3 or 4 new teams the 2010/11 season looks as if it will be even better with the possibility of us being able to introduce two leagues for the first time in many years. If you are interested in playing darts in the Dunfermline League and are not currently registered, you should make contact with one of the member teams (a full list of the current member teams can be found on the season 2009/10 Fixture List page). Any publicans who are interested in entering a team for season 2010/2011 should email info@dunfermlinedarts.co.uk with their contact details.

With over 13,000 hits on the website in it's first season this has also proven to be a popular method of sharing information about darts in Dunfermline District as well as a general forum for players and non-players alike to interract with each other through the DDDL Forum.

All in all it has been a fantastic season and we look forward to welcoming season 2010/11 after the summer.

The 2010/11 AGM will be held in the Thistle Tavern (Dunfermline) on Tuesday 17th August 2011 @ 8pm. All currently registered and future players are welcome to attend (please note that only currently registered players will be eligible to vote)
